Honestly, this is my very first ever review I have ever left but Alvie deserves this. He is the most genuine and caring person I have ever met. He's not just here to make a buck, he truly cares about his customers and the vehicles they have to ensure safety, quality and care. I walked in with an issue and walked out with a friend. I still call him just to chat and ask advice and if he's free, he will always assist. He made sure to explain everything to me so that I understood and you honestly cannot beat his customer service. It's hard to find decent people you can trust with your vehicle but he most definitely is one of them, 10/10, would highly recommend every time.

This place is TOP NOTCH! GREAT people. Seem very honest and straight shooters. Alvie and his partner seemed to be genuinely great people from start to finish. I was traveling from South Florida to up north while towing a boat and needed a new trans put in after it blew up on 95. It’s an old truck and he noticed a few other things that weren’t that safe and fixed them for very cheap just to make sure I was good. I live 4 hours away from the shop. I explained to him that I was having some issues with my father who had a stroke and couldn’t make it up to him for a couple of weeks and I really wasn’t sure when I’d even get there but I really needed my work truck back. They ended up finding someone to tow my truck to me for just the gas money. 8-9 hour round trip and I only paid for gas. They really went above and beyond to get me my truck when they knew I was having trouble getting up to get it. Great people and I will be a customer for life if I ever need them for anything! Thank you, guys!

We were a car load of six women and they were very honest about what may be wrong and recommended what to do, even offering solutions like driving the van to my home town. Even though I wasn't able to purchase a transmission today it was the best 15 to 20 minutes conversation ever with a mechanic/ shop. Never had someone break it down and tell you things other places hide from you. If you have the money and time I recommend this place. Kindness & Courtesy - On 9/27/2019, my vehicle was towed to Alvie's Transmission shop for evaluation/repair. I was totally overwhelmed with his concern and kindness; because I had previously been ripped off by another mechanic shop. Even though he found my vehicle to be un-repairable, I was so grateful that he took the time to check it. I will highly recommend his repair business to others!

I was dreading going to see what was wrong with my 2009 F150 Lariat, it was making a racket and driving badly & getting worse by the day. Alvie & I took a short test drive, and he gave me the bad news I was denying, It was the transmission & I needed a new one. Best decision I made was to choose his locally owned shop over the others. Honest, fair price, straight forward and best of all, I got my truck back when he said I would, for the price we agreed on!! It’s been almost a month now and truck is driving great, thanks! When my special needs son and I returned from a trip to Massachusetts last week my Dodge pickup broke down on the outskirts of Jacksonville, FL. Not knowing anyone to contact in the Jacksonville area I called a shop I have done business with in Brooksville, FL. They contacted Alvie's Transmission on Main Street North in Jacksonville, and told me they set it up to have my truck towed there. That's were the unbelievable southern hospitality began from Alvie and his wife. The tow truck took 3 hours to get to me so it was well after closing when we finally arrived at Alvie's Transmission. Alvie and his wife waited for us to arrive and even had us wait in the shop until my friend arrived to pick me up 3 hours away. Alvie's wife entertained my son throughout the long wait by exchanging ghosts stories. He loved it. Alvie kept my truck overnight and ran all kinds of tests on it to see what the issue was. He gave me his recommendation and had me come get the truck. When I got there I asked Alvie how much I owed him. He said NOTHING. Alvie's has the best shop I have ever seen in this area. The place was spotless. I found Alvie's shop through online reviews, at first I was kinda suspect but he had no bad ratings so I had to pay him a visit. He was able to repair and return my vehicle as promised without flaw. My vehicle is performing better than expected. Alvie is the most meticulous mechanic I have ever seen, he pointed out potential concerns with my vehicle which could become issues down the road. I was impressed the first time I met Alvie, he invited me into his shop and offered me something to eat. It was then I knew I was in the right place. I feel as though I have developed a personal relationship with Alvie, and I am alright with that because good honest people are hard to find these days.
