I was told by other large repair franchises in town that I needed a new radiator and transmission to which I was obviously suspect. In my search for quality mechanic's in town I found Alvie's based on the other reviews and then talked with him on the phone. He listened to what I wanted and didn't just try to sell me stuff. By far the BEST experience I have had with any transmission shop or automotive tech in general was with Alvie's Transmission Service Unlimited Repair Service in Jacksonville Florida. Alvie has a passion for his craft and takes the time to make sure you know what's going on, how and why. Not only did I get a great JASPER remanufactured transmission unit from Alvie for a great price, but I came out of the experience far more informed about the details of automatic transmissions than I had before. Follow up support was top notch and I felt like I mattered as a client. I have recommended Alvie a number of times and my friends have come away with the same great experience as I did. *TOP NOTCH** I am new to the Jacksonville area as I just moved here from Atlanta where it is extremely difficult to find a trustworthy mechanic. But Alvie, his wife, and the other mechanic Kevin are GREAT people and very knowledgeable.
