By far the BEST experience I have had with any transmission shop or automotive tech in general was with Alvie's Transmission Service Unlimited Repair Service in Jacksonville Florida. Alvie has a passion for his craft and takes the time to make sure you know what's going on, how and why. Not only did I get a great JASPER remanufactured transmission unit from Alvie for a great price, but I came out of the experience far more informed about the details of automatic transmissions than I had before. Follow up support was top notch and I felt like I mattered as a client. I have recommended Alvie a number of times and my friends have come away with the same great experience as I did. *TOP NOTCH** I am new to the Jacksonville area as I just moved here from Atlanta where it is extremely difficult to find a trustworthy mechanic. But Alvie, his wife, and the other mechanic Kevin are GREAT people and very knowledgeable. Although I only came in for a standard "oil change", they made me feel CONFIDENT & COMFORTABLE bringing my vehicle to them for any type of service. Want to express my sincere thanks to Alvie at Alvie's Transmission Service Unlimited Repair in Jacksonville Florida. I took my Dodge truck into him and from the moment I walked into his shop and saw it...I knew I wanted this man working on my vehicle Extremely well organized with every tool, part and piece of equipment immaculate and in it's own place...you could literally eat off his floors...I am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination...Alvie told me right off it may be a minor problem and he would check it out...as it turned out it was not...my Transmission was shot (had almost 180,000 miles on it). He then advised me I could go in one of two directions...I could replace it with a used transmission or a new JASPER re-manufactured transmission...he advised me based on his over 30+ years of experience...that if I put a used one in, I might get a good one that would last or I might get one that would go out in a very short time and they are risky (no warranty). He told me if he were I, he would opt for the new JASPER transmission with a three year warranty...I said Alvie, I am going to rely on your judgement and your experience and I'm going to opt for the new JASPER transmission...I know you wouldn't steer me wrong...to which he replied, "No, I would not...not intentionally anyway".

He then installed the new transmission in my truck and I have had it back now for over a month and it is running like new! I highly recommend Alvie and Alvie's Transmission Service Unlimited Repair Service, if you want to put your vehicle in the hands of a experienced professional and a good, decent, and honest man, take it to Alvie.
